General Overview
Credential and Degree Processing
NCCA Membership and Basic Certification (C.T.C.) is processed after completion of Phase I curriculum and requirements.
NCCA Licensing is processed after completion of both Phases I and II curriculum and requirements.
Students in the AA/BA/MA and BA/MA programs will be processed for their Associates and Bachelors degrees in Phase II,
and will choose their institution, and be processed for their Master's degree at the end of Phase III.
Students in the MA and Doctorate Programs will choose their institution, and be processed for their degrees at the
end of Phase III curriculum and requirements.
Enrollment and Getting Started
On-Line Enrollment: Find the link for the RMCM/NCCA On-Line Enrollment Form. Complete the Online Form, and
press the submit button. This form includes an area to pay your initial enrollment by credit card. If you prefer to
pay by credit card, but do not want to include your CC information on the form, indicate that on the form, then call
RMCM Ministries, toll free 1-877-885-2735, after sending. This is also the proper procedure for paying by check
or money order.
By Mail: Alternately, if you do not want to enroll on-line, you may print the form off on your computer, complete it and mail it in. Submit the enrollment form, responses to the six (6) questions, along with a check/money order (or Credit Card payment information) for $300 ($200 for PreCertification Program) by mail to: RMCM Ministries, Attn: Evaluation Committee, 207 N. Spring Street, Odon, Indiana 47562. (The initial payment covers enrollment processing and payment for the initial course of Phase I). Alternately, the candidate may fax their enrollment documentation, including the credit card payment information, (or call in their credit card information after submission). If faxing, please call ahead to let us know, so we can prepare the fax machine to receive.
Upon acceptance, the candidate will receive email notification, followed by an acceptance letter package mailed from RMCM Ministries. The acceptance letter will contain important information, student area access information, a program specific checklist, latest program additions and information, and a copy of a supervisor agreement form. The supervisor agreement form will need to be signed and returned within 30 days. By the time you receive the mailed acceptance letter, your first course "Basic Christian Counseling" will already be on its way to you, drop-shipped from N.C.C.A. headquarters
Additional Enrollment Documentation Submission (All programs except PreCertification Lay Program)
Upon receipt of the first course "Basic Christian Counseling", there will be a packet of information and documents
from the NCCA, that will need your attention to complete the other enrollment documentation needed. Documentation in
this package are; Letter of Recommendation Forms, two (2) Copies of the NCCA Code of Ethics, 50 Ethical Questions from
the NCCA Licensing Board that will require your responses, Membership/Certification/License/Background Check
Application Forms, etc. You will have the balance of time of your Phase I studies to complete these additional
documents and return to RMCM Ministries to accomodate the first benchmark, which is Certification/Membership at the
end of Phase I.
Accomplishment of Courses, Time Limitations
Student should commit to at least one (1) hour a day for study. The more time committed, the faster your program can
be completed. Courses are home study (Text book, Work Book, and will include examination packets). Only a couple of
our courses are video or video supplemented. Each course has a time limitation (weeks), but the time limitation time
is liberal. Our programs are designed for busy, mature Christians. Courses are taken one at a time for Phases I and
II. Students may elect to take 2 or more courses at at time during the elective phase (Phase III), if so desired.
Payment and Pre-Ordering of course ahead of time, to have when you complete a course is allowable. Students will
need to keep track and follow the curriculum schedule of which courses to take in order. If a medical or other
emergency arises during your courses and you need an extension, please contact RMCM Ministries.
Examinations, Proctors, Student Communication Board
Examinations are to be proctored. This may be your Pastor, Church leader or other trusted adult in your community.
The proctor may not be a family member, relative, or close family friend. When you are ready to take your
examinations, present the examination packet to them to administer to you. The proctor will open the packet and be
sure that you do not have any textbooks or notes when taking the exam. The proctor is required to fill out the
proctor form. When the exams are completed, they are sent to RMCM Ministries for grading. Grades are posted in the
student communication area of the ministry web-site.
Completion of Courses, Ordering next course
As you complete each course, you send payment for ordering your next course. Payment for your next course may be
placed in the same envelope as your examinations. If you do not want a gap in time between completing your current
course and the next, you may send your course order in earlier, so it may be on its way to you.
Your Personal APS Survey and Report
Course 2 (Temperament Theory). One of the first things you will accomplish in this course is to fill out your own
personal APS survey questionaire for scoring. The returned report is an excellent tool to sit by your studies as you
learn the therapeutic model and techniques.
Practicum Requirements, When Practicum Begin, Preparation for Case Studies (All Programs except PreCert)
After completing the fourth course of Phase I (Temperament Therapy), you may begin the practicum requirements.
Practicum individuals may be referrals to you within the church or community, or you may accomplish "teaching
practicums" by using volunteers who will sit down with you for 4 or 5 sessions. NOTE: If you are in a licensing +
degree program, you may use teaching practicum for completing requirements for the credentials, but when processing
you for any post graduate degree that requires case studies, the majority of your case study submissions, should be
with real counselees, not volunteers.
End Of Phase I - Membership and Certification Processing
After completion of Phase I requirements, RMCM Ministries will process you for basic certification and initial
membership with the NCCA. It is at this time that all post enrollment documentation will have been submitted for
processing. Sometimes students complete all of Phase I academic requirements, but have not yet completed the
practicum requirements. Students may begin taking Phase II courses, while completing Phase I practicum.
Fees, Prepayments
All associated fees (APS Practicum, Supervision, and Matriculation/Transfer), are collected at various points in the
program. These fees and time frame collected are provided in a Program Checklist, provided to all students upon
acceptance in the program. Students may prepay ahead, on any aspect of the program. RMCM Ministries will hold an
account open for you to draw from your monies, when you need it.
Phase II - AA/BA Degree & License Processing
After completion of Phase II, we process the student for the NCCA licensing. Degree processing is separate from
credential processing. Students in combination degree programs will have Associates and/or Bachelor degree processing
during Phase II, then Master's processing at the end of Phase III.
Phase III - MA and Doctorate Degree Processing
Students entering the program with a Bachelors or Master Degree will have their next level degree processed at the
end of Phase III. There are no residency requirements. Students are considered students of RMCM Ministries during
the entire program selected.
Receiving Your Degree(s) and Credentials
This is a degree transfer program. All completed courses, credential work, etc. is forwarded to the NCCA at
certain points of your phased program with RMCM Ministries. Your degree will come to you directly from the
selected college or seminary by mail, or if you have the ability to go to the institution, you may go through
their regular, annual commencement ceremonies, or alternately may have your degree presented to you at the NCCA
annual conference held in November of each year in Florida. Participating in commencements is not required, but
we encourage students to consider this option. Participating at commencements or at annual NCCA conferences is at
the expense of the student.
The student does not directly communicate with any of the schools conferring the degrees, as they are not direct students of those institutions. Communications for degrees are the responsibility and pre-agreed betweem the NCCA and the selected institution. Each of the representive schools have identical a greements with the NCCA and RMCM Minsitries, to process and administer the degrees this way in the NCCA degree transfer program. The formula is simple..........successfully complete all 3 phases of our program, and you will receive your degree(s). Along the way, you will have also earned valuable credentials as a counselor from the NCCA. Your membership, certification and licensing documents come to you directly from the NCCA. Your earned degree(s) come directly from your chosen college.university/seminary, with transcript.
Supervision/Mentoring, Practicum Guidelines & Examples
During the entire program, students are guided and directed by a clinical supervisor, who will assist in answering your
questions, and review critique practicum reports and ensure that you are grasping the concept of the
therapeutic model and applying it properly. For students entering with no experience in counseling, the first
few practicum may be somewhat challenging, but be assured that your supervisor will help you in easing transition
and tension. Practicum are just that......."practice", and not every student can assimilate the need and carry out
the first few practicum, without something that may have been overlooked. Critique of your written reports will point
out errors, and make recommendations/suggestions for improvement, as you go along. Also, we have excellent,
detailed guidelines and examples, in the student area, for all students to review/study before beginning the first
one !
The method of instruction is straight-forward, and you will be gently guided through all aspects and requirements of the program. Timely response and communications are a must in any distance program, and is required for ours. It is incumbent upon the student to contact the supervisor for all questions. There are never any silly questions, as you are preparing for the challenge of helping those in need, and attention to detail is needed in every aspect of learning, listening, writing, and effective communications. All key ingredients to a good counselor. The supervisor's goal is that you apply these in every aspect of your program and in your life, and if improvement is needed along the way, the supervisor and student will effect adjustments. Our goal is your success. God will take care of the rest. This said, your supervisor is readily available by phone or email at all reasonable hours (normally 9am to 9pm eastern).
Summary/Conclusion
This unique program is unlike others you will see in your search for credentialling and Christian counseling
degrees, in that you are not sold/sent books, then left out there alone, suddenly to find that you have no support,
or worse yet, the program you signed up for are not certification/licensing, but certificate only programs. The NCCA
certifies individuals as counselors, and supports its membership professionally through dues and a disciplinary Code
of Ethics. RMCM Ministries strives to keep you involved and interested, through interactive communication, that can
only be gotten through a professional supervisor/supervisee relationship. You will be spending from 1 - 3 years in
our various programs, under a mentoring arrangement. During this time we begin to know each other very well
(personally and professionally). We recognize that each and every student will be a future NCCA licensed pastoral
counselor, and a fellow NCCA collegue. RMCM Ministries goal is to fully equip you for the challenge ahead. Your
supervisor will expertly work with you and guide you personally and professionally. Your supervisor is a graduate
of the programs you are considering, and through experience, has been specifically selected, trained, skilled, and
board certified in supervision. Our ministry meets a superior high standard of educational trust, as indicated by
our ministry being certified by the National Christian Counselors Association as an approved academic institution.
This experience is invaluable as we mentor you through to your personal goals that God set upon your heart. You
will not find a finer level of education and communication with a traditional "college or seminary". Our doors/phones
do not close or shut down at 5pm.
Please take the necessary time to review every aspect of our programs on this website. The information is very comprehensive, as any professional academic and credential program should be. Our goal is to present the information and navigation through the site, to be as easy to read as possible. This opportunity requires a committment of your time and finances over a period of time, and we ask all prospective students to pray about the opportunity that is before you, and please ask for any clarification. We are pleased to work with you to answer all of your questions, so you are comfortable in making an enrollment decision. We also invite inquiry from your church, pastor, or organization partner, of any aspect of our programs, and the benefits that will be derived from participation and completion. Thank you and Blessings !
