COUNSELING THE CODEPENDENT: A CHRISTIAN PERSPECTIVE UTILIZING TEMPERAMENT

This course is approximately 160 pages in length. The candidate will receive specialized training regarding codependency, which incorporates the counseling taught by the N.C.C.A.

  • Approximately 35 clock hours
  • Time Limit: 12 weeks
  • Pass one proctored exam.

    The purpose of this course is to introduce the student to the study of Codependency with an emphasis on temperament and the temperament model developed by Drs. Richard and Phyllis Arno of the NCCA.

    Through a planned sequence of written instructional materials, the student will:

  • be provided with a clear understanding of codependency and the proper method to use in counseling
    persons who suffer codependency.

  • be introduced to terminology relating to codependency.

  • learn the proper recovery stages and proper ways to motivate a codependent individual through these stages

    Specific Areas Of Concentration: Codependency Overview; Characteristics of Codependency; Family of Origin Issues; Disfunctional Family Rules; Alcoholism; Recovery Strategies; God's Healing Process; The Psychodynamics Of A Personality Disorder; Temperament; Temperament Therapy; and the Study of the Melancholy, Phlegmatic, Supine, Choleric, and Sanguine Temperaments.
