Dr. Mangus retired from the Department of Defense (Civil Service) in September 2000, to follow a calling into ministry as a Christian Pastoral Counselor. In 2003, having successfully begun a counseling ministry serving the referral needs of over 100 churches, he was asked by the National Christian Counselors Association to become a certified supervisor and offer academic and credential training to the others who are called into ministries of counseling. Beginning with only 3 students, RMCM Ministries has grown to over 450 enrolled and graduate students, with all graduates having gone on and are successfully in practice in counseling ministries of their own. In 2008, Colorado Theological Seminary hired Dr. Mangus as an adjunct professor to mentor students in their Biblical Studies/Ministry degree programs, which he still oversees today. RMCM Ministry students and graduates are resident in nearly every state of the union
He is the author of “Effective Biblical Counseling” and more recently a daily/weekly study called “Coffee Cup Devotions” which has an outreach over 1000 families across the United States. Dr. Mangus married his high school sweetheart Diane in 1972, and they have been faithful to that marriage for 37 years. They have resided in Ohio, Kentucky, Florida, Arlington, VA, California, and now settled in Indiana since 1984. They have four (4) children, and eight wonderful grandchildren.
Expertly trained and seasoned in working with over 1000 hurting individuals, couples, and families, Dr. Mangus brings a message of hope, faith, love and reconciliation with whom the Lord sends and cross paths. His Christ based therapy model of choice is Creation Therapy, His plan today is to bring forth a simple message of hope, faith, love and reconciliation, as well as provide an overview of Creation Therapy, with planned interactive participation with the audience on the purpose and understanding of the accompanying Arno Profile System. We believe you will find this seminar to be an eye opening experience, filled with humor and reflection, but most of all, provide insight to how God designed each of us wonderfully and uniquely different, each with different positive and negative tendencies, and unmet needs. It is the understanding of our own unmet needs, as well as the unmet needs of our partners that will promote healing in marriages, and with God’s help, take the ordinary and turn it into the extraordinary.
